Hello, my name is Joued, I’m 19 and I’m studying Sport and Exercise at ROC Mondriaan college in The Hague. My hobbies are boxing and gymnastics.
How satisfied were you with the support before departure?
I was very happy with the support before departure. Ruben was the person I could always contact back in Holland and he was very helpful. When I had questions he was easy to reach and replied quickly. This was really nice and also important for my studies.

Joued · internship in Costa Rica
The internship I did in Costa Rica was a really fun and special experience. During my internship I taught sports lessons at a primary school near Esparza, and I helped build little houses by painting and renovating a roof for people from a disadvantaged background.
At the weekends I was free and had plenty of time to explore the beautiful country of Costa Rica. For example, the surfing there is great!
The accommodation was good, the supervisors and staff did their very best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. You could also ask the supervisors anything.
I’ve come away with really amazing memories.
What advice would you like to give future interns and volunteers?
It’s handy to know some Spanish, although you can also take lessons in the country itself. Suncream is very expensive in the country itself 😉
