Job vacancy in Curaçao

Do you always give it your all?

Are you the sort of person who takes the reins, gets things moving and isn’t satisfied until everything is sorted out properly? And do you dream of living and working in Curaçao for a while? If so, you might be just the person we’re looking for.

Job vacancy

Hospitality and Sport Coordinator, Curaçao

In Curaçao, we run sports sessions for children who have little space at home to play and be active. Every year, we welcome many students and volunteers there. As coordinator, you’ll be the face of The Power of Sports on the island: you’ll ensure that interns and volunteers are made to feel welcome, that the sports programmes are rock-solid, and that everything runs smoothly. At the moment, we’re still providing weekly support from the UK. You’ll be taking that on.

⚽

Sports programmes

You will ensure that training sessions with schools, clubs and partners run smoothly, motivate the students, assess trainees in collaboration with their schools, and monitor the quality of every lesson.

🏠

Hospitality

You will organise the reception and induction of interns and volunteers, be responsible for day-to-day operations in and around the accommodation, and be there for the participants when things aren’t going so well.

📋

Organisation

You will maintain contact with schools and partners on the island, keep an eye on the schedule, handle the financial side of things in consultation with the Netherlands, and contribute ideas on how to improve things day by day.

Who we’re looking for

This suits you

  • You’re positive, driven and tackle problems head-on.
  • Ideally, you will have a background in sport, whether as a coach, PE teacher, sports leader or (former) athlete.
  • You have experience in coordination, supervision, hospitality or project management.
  • You speak Dutch and English well. Knowledge of Papiamentu or Spanish would be an advantage.
  • You can start in early January 2027 and must be available for at least 6 months, preferably longer.
What you get

Well organised

  • A salary of between €1,500 and €1,750 per month, depending on experience and age.
  • Your flight ticket to Curaçao will be paid for.
  • Don’t have a place to live yet? Then we’ll arrange a room for you in our volunteers’ house.
  • Transport on the island: our bus or our additional hire car.
  • Weekly support from the team in the UK and a colleague in Curaçao who will be there to help you.
  • A great deal of freedom, a great deal of responsibility, and seeing every day what sport does for children and young people.

Fancy becoming the linchpin of our team?

Please send your CV and a short cover letter to mike@thepowerofsports.org. Above all, tell us what sport means to you and why you are the person who can take Curaçao forward. Any questions about the role? Call or send a text to Ruben on +44 7758 484544.
