The support was brilliant; it’s really nice that there’s someone who speaks Dutch so you can arrange everything properly beforehand.

Anne: I honestly found it the best experience ever. I really enjoyed all the people there, and the group we were with was absolutely brilliant! The teaching itself was a real experience too; it’s strange to see how people live here and what they live in. It’s lovely to see the children light up when you arrive at their school on the bus.
Everything is perfectly organised, so you don’t need to worry about anything. The only thing you have to do yourself is plan the lessons, but you soon get the hang of that. I learnt so much about their culture and from the people themselves, and I can really recommend it to everyone. It’s an experience you’ll never forget!
What advice would you like to give future interns and volunteers?
Save enough money so you can experience lots of South Africa!
