How long did you do your internship?
4 weeks
Short biography
I am a sports and exercise student at Curio. Besides that, I work as a bartender and my favorite sport is football. I am also a NAC supporter!
All in all, I really enjoyed it and it was an unforgettable experience.
How satisfied were you with the guidance in your home country?
Very good! Ruben helped us well with the preparation for Curaçao. Even when we were on the island, he helped us from the Netherlands whenever needed. He’s a really nice guy and also fun to be around.

My story
I completed a four-week internship in Curaçao and had an absolutely amazing experience. During this time, I had the opportunity to work alongside a fantastic group of people, which made the whole period very enjoyable. The interaction with the children I taught was particularly rewarding. Although some children spoke Dutch better than others, this challenge made the teaching experience even more interesting, as it encouraged me to be creative and use different teaching methods to engage everyone.
Besides working, I had plenty of free time to explore the beautiful island and even attend some local parties, which added to the cultural experience. Since this was the first project organized in Curaçao, not everything went perfectly smoothly at first, but the team was very proactive in finding solutions to any small issues that arose. I am confident that future projects will run even better.
One of my favorite parts of the internship was the after-school care program, where I had the freedom to choose the type of lessons I wanted to give. This autonomy made the experience even more fulfilling and allowed me to tailor activities to the children’s interests and needs.
At the national stadium, where some of the lessons took place, we were well supported by a professional teacher, which helped ensure the quality of the lessons and provided valuable guidance.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Curaçao and consider it an unforgettable experience that has enriched me both personally and professionally.
