General
You can only participate in an activity and/or trip with The Power of Sports if you agree to our terms and conditions. The Power of Sports assumes that you are familiar with the content of these terms and conditions and any additional conditions that may apply to the activity and/or trip as stated on our website.
To comply with legally required guarantees, The Power of Sports uses the VZR Garant guarantee scheme (www.vzr-garant.nl). You can verify this on the participant page of the VZR Garant website. Within the limits of the Guarantee Scheme (available on the VZR Garant website), the guarantee of VZR Garant applies. The Guarantee Scheme explains exactly which (travel) offers are covered by the VZR Garant guarantee and what this guarantee entails. If services are not provided due to financial insolvency of The Power of Sports, you may contact VZR Garant, located at Torenallee 20, 5617 BC Eindhoven, Netherlands, via info@vzr-garant.nl or +31 (0)85 13 07 630.
Participants
The general terms and conditions apply to all participants in an activity and/or trip organized by The Power of Sports. Participants also include anyone involved in (parts of) the activity and/or trip as an organizer, supervisor, intern, or volunteer.
Booking Form
Volunteer work/internships: By submitting the completed form from the Welcome Pack, the participant agrees to the general terms and conditions.
Trips: By agreeing to the quote, you accept the general and any additional conditions on behalf of all persons included in the booking. If multiple persons (as a group) wish to participate in the same activity, they may make one joint booking.
Prices
For volunteer work and internships, the price listed at registration on the website always applies. If the price changes, the participant retains the right to pay the previously agreed amount.
Trips: The prices listed on our website are current prices, including fees, (fuel) surcharges, taxes, and exchange rates. Prices may fluctuate based on supply and demand. Participants pay the rate ultimately stated on the quote and invoice. Website prices serve as guidelines, as flight prices in particular may change. The Power of Sports reserves the right to pass on changes in fees, (fuel) surcharges, taxes, or exchange rates to the participant. The website details which items are included in the price per activity and/or trip. Trips start and end in the Netherlands. Participants are responsible for expenses not included in the trip fee, including travel to the departure location. The Power of Sports cannot be held responsible for flight cancellations or delays. Please note that pre-purchased tickets for activities, transfers, and accommodations are often non-refundable.
Proposals
Custom-made trips proposed by The Power of Sports are priced according to the rates valid at the time of proposal. Prices may be adjusted if transport and/or activities become more expensive or cheaper. The price on the quote and final invoice may therefore differ from the proposed price.
Quote
The price in the quote from The Power of Sports is valid for five days. After this expiration, prices may vary, and a new quote will be issued.
Payment
Payments must be made before the payment deadline set by The Power of Sports. If a deadline is missed, the due amount may be increased by an administrative fee, and a new payment deadline of up to 7 days will be set.
Missed payment deadlines mean the amount due is immediately payable to The Power of Sports. The Power of Sports reserves the right to charge additional fees for late payments. Deposits and/or remaining fees are non-refundable unless The Power of Sports cancels the activity and/or trip, changes the planned departure or arrival date, or when alternative arrangements have been made and confirmed in writing.
Installment Payments
For some activities and/or trips, The Power of Sports offers the option to pay the participation fee in installments.
Reservation Fees
The Power of Sports does not charge reservation fees for participation in an activity and/or trip.
Baggage Fees
Airlines often charge fees for checked baggage or certain types of carry-on baggage. Since not all travelers choose to bring checked baggage on their trip with The Power of Sports, each participant is responsible for any extra costs resulting from their baggage, unless other agreements have been made with The Power of Sports. These optional baggage fees can be added online via The Power of Sports. Participants are responsible for adhering to baggage size and weight limits. The Power of Sports is not liable for refused baggage or related costs.
Refunds
Any (partial) refunds will be transferred after the trip ends to the bank account used for the original payment of the participation fee. Refunds will be made no later than 30 days after the activity and/or trip ends. If a participant terminates the trip early, The Power of Sports retains the full amount paid for the trip.
Cancellation Insurance
Participants in trips with The Power of Sports are advised to take out cancellation insurance.
Insurance
Participants are required to have valid travel insurance for the full duration of and appropriate to the activity and/or trip and confirm awareness of the coverage. The Power of Sports may request proof of insurance when the nature of the activity and/or trip warrants it. For all activities and/or trips, The Power of Sports offers the possibility to take out travel insurance for the full duration via an insurance company selected by The Power of Sports. Participants are insured directly with the insurer and agree to the insurer’s terms by paying The Power of Sports; these terms are available upon request. Participants are responsible for having health insurance and confirm knowledge of its coverage. For foreign activities and/or trips, participants must also have a European Health Insurance Card. The Power of Sports cannot be held liable for providing medical support or reimbursement of medical costs.
Vaccinations
The Power of Sports provides information on necessary vaccinations for participation when possible. Participants remain responsible for consulting the appropriate authorities to determine if vaccinations are necessary and for timely vaccination and related costs.
Liability
The Power of Sports is not liable for damage, loss, or theft of baggage or other belongings of participants. Participants are liable for any damage (including loss or theft) caused to accommodations, transport, and materials of The Power of Sports or its partners. Participants are advised to have liability insurance with sufficient coverage during the activity and/or trip.
The Power of Sports is not liable for damage, injury, or harm resulting from participation in activities included in the trip or activity program. The Power of Sports is also not liable for any damage or injury resulting from activities undertaken by participants during the trip or activity but outside the official program. Good physical condition and fitness may be required for some activities and/or trips. Participants are responsible for assessing whether participation is suitable.
Travel Documents
Participants must provide valid travel document details (passport or, if valid for the country, an identity card) by the deadline set by The Power of Sports before an international activity and/or trip. Participants are responsible for checking the validity of the travel document provided and bringing it on the trip. The Power of Sports reserves the right to charge extra costs resulting from late or incorrect travel document details. The Power of Sports may refuse participants without refund or charge extra costs if they cannot present the provided travel document at the start of the activity and/or trip. The Power of Sports cannot provide consular or financial assistance if participants lose their travel documents before or during the activity and/or trip.
Number of Participants
The Power of Sports maintains minimum and maximum participant numbers for activities and/or trips, which are stated on the website. If the minimum number is not reached by the registration deadline, The Power of Sports reserves the right to cancel the activity and/or trip with full refund of all paid amounts (excluding transaction fees) but also reserves the right to proceed with fewer participants. The maximum participant number indicated on the website is a guideline and may be deviated from. The number of participants is never a reason for a participant to cancel an activity and/or trip with a refund.
Disabled Participants
By signing up for an activity and/or trip, participants confirm they can independently participate in the program communicated on the website or have arranged necessary support before departure. Participants must provide all relevant information at registration that may affect safe participation. The Power of Sports is not liable for extra costs resulting from inability to complete the program. Lack of facilities is not the responsibility of The Power of Sports, which cannot be held liable.
Transport
The Power of Sports uses various carriers. Depending on the activity and/or trip, participants travel by train, bus, car, boat, and/or airplane. The start and end location are always in the Netherlands. The start location may differ from the end location. Transport costs to the start or from the end location are not reimbursed. In some cases, participation without the initial trip from the Netherlands or without return to the Netherlands is possible. Extra costs are the participant’s responsibility.
Program
The Power of Sports sends all necessary participation information at least two weeks before the start, which may include the final program, flight schedules, transfers, and accommodation addresses, as far as the nature of the activity and/or trip allows.
Image Material
During activities and/or trips, photo and/or video recordings are regularly made. This material is used to promote The Power of Sports in the broadest sense. Participants must notify The Power of Sports in writing before payment if they do not consent to the use of their image material. Image material remains the property of The Power of Sports and may not be further distributed without prior written permission unless The Power of Sports publicly shares it via social media.
Newsletter
Persons expressing interest in participating by filling in a form on The Power of Sports website will automatically receive The Power of Sports’ electronic newsletter, provided a valid email address is available. Unsubscribing from this free service can be done at any time.
Publication
Obvious errors or mistakes on The Power of Sports website (www.thepowerofsports.co.uk) do not bind The Power of Sports and no liability arises.
