General
You can only participate in an activity and/or trip with the power of sports if you agree to our general terms and conditions. The power of sports assumes that you are familiar with the content of the terms and that you have possibly read any additional terms applicable to the activity and/or trip on our website.
To comply with the legally required guarantee scheme, the power of sports uses the VZR Garant guarantee scheme (www.vzr-garant.nl). You can check this via the participants page of the VZR Garant website. Within the limits of the Guarantee Scheme (available on the VZR Garant website), the VZR Garant guarantee applies. In the Guarantee Scheme, you can read which (travel) offers the VZR Garant guarantee applies to and what this guarantee entails. If services are not provided due to the financial inability of the power of sports, you can contact VZR Garant, located at Torenallee 20, 5617 BC in Eindhoven, Netherlands, via info@vzr-garant.nl or +31 (0)85 13 07 630.
Participants
The general terms and conditions apply to all participants in an activity and/or trip of the power of sports. Participants also include anyone participating in (parts of) the activity and/or trip of the power of sports as an organizer, supervisor, intern, or volunteer.
Booking Form
- Volunteer work/internships: By submitting the completed form from the Welcome Pack, the participant agrees to the general terms and conditions.
- Trips: By agreeing to the offer, you agree to the general and any additional terms on behalf of all persons included in the booking. If multiple persons (as a group) wish to participate in the same activity, they can make a joint booking.
Prices
- Volunteer work and internships: The price listed at the time of registration on the website applies. If the price changes, the participant retains the right to pay the previously agreed amount.
- Trips: The prices listed on our website are current prices, taking into account levies, (fuel) surcharges, taxes, and exchange rates. Prices can fluctuate based on supply and demand. Participants pay the rate listed in the final offer and invoice. The price on the website is a guideline, especially since flight prices can change. The power of sports reserves the right to pass on changes in levies, (fuel) surcharges, taxes, or exchange rates to the participant. The website of the power of sports specifies which items are included in the price for each activity and/or trip. A trip starts and ends in the Netherlands. The participant is responsible for any items not included in the trip’s participation fee, including travel to the departure point. The power of sports cannot be held responsible for flight cancellations or delays. Note that tickets for activities, transfers, and accommodations purchased in advance are often non-refundable.
Proposals
The proposed, custom-made trips from the power of sports are priced based on the rates valid at the time of the proposal. Prices can be adjusted if transportation and/or activities become more expensive/cheaper. The price on the offer and the final invoice may therefore differ from the proposed price.
Offer
The price on the power of sports‘ offer is valid for five days. After this expiration date, the price may differ, and a new offer will be drawn up.
Payment
Payments must be made before the payment deadline set by the power of sports. If a payment deadline is missed, the amount due may be increased with an administrative fee, and a new payment deadline of no more than 7 days will be set.
If payment deadlines are missed, the amount owed to the power of sports becomes immediately due. The power of sports reserves the right to charge additional costs for payments made after the deadline. A paid deposit and/or participation fee is non-refundable unless the power of sports cancels the activity and/or trip, adjusts the planned departure or arrival date, or if different agreements have been made and confirmed in writing.
Instalment payments
For some activities and/or trips, the power of sports offers the possibility to pay the participation fee in instalments.
Reservation fees
The power of sports does not charge reservation fees for participation in an activity and/or trip.
Baggage fees
Airlines often charge a fee for the transport of (checked) baggage or certain types of hand luggage. Since not all travelers choose to bring (checked) baggage during their trip with the power of sports, each participant is responsible for the potential additional costs of bringing their baggage unless other arrangements have been made with the power of sports. These optional baggage fees can be booked online through the power of sports. Participants are responsible for adhering to baggage size and weight limits. The power of sports is not responsible for refused baggage or any additional costs.
Refunds
Any (partial) refunds will always be transferred to the account number used for the original (first) payment of the participation fee by the participant. Refunds will be processed no later than 30 days after the end of the activity and/or trip. If a participant terminates the trip early, the power of sports will retain the full amount paid for the trip.
Cancellation insurance
Participants of the power of sports trips are advised to take out cancellation insurance.
Insurance
Participants are required to have valid travel insurance for the entire duration of, and appropriate for, the activity and/or trip and declare that they are aware of the corresponding coverage. The power of sports has the right to ask participants to provide proof of insurance if the nature of the activity and/or trip warrants it. For all activities and/or trips, the power of sports offers the possibility to purchase travel insurance for the full duration of the activity and/or trip through the power of sports from a selected insurance company. Participants are insured directly with the insurance company and, by making payment to the power of sports, agree to the terms of the insurance company, which are available upon request from the power of sports. Participants are responsible for having health insurance and declare that they are aware of the corresponding coverage. For foreign activities and/or trips, participants must also possess a European Health Insurance Card. The power of sports cannot be held liable for providing medical assistance and/or reimbursement of medical expenses.
Vaccinations
The power of sports will inform participants, where possible, about necessary vaccinations to participate in an activity and/or trip. Participants remain responsible for obtaining information from the appropriate authorities regarding necessary vaccinations and are responsible for timely vaccinations and any associated costs.
Liability
The power of sports is not liable for damage, loss, or theft of baggage or other personal belongings of participants. Participants are personally liable for any damage (including loss or theft) they cause to accommodations, transport, and materials belonging to the power of sports or its partners. Participants are advised to have liability insurance with sufficient coverage during the activity and/or trip.
The power of sports is not liable for injury, damage, or harm resulting from participation in the activities that are part of the trip or activity program. The power of sports is also not liable for any damage or injury resulting from activities participants undertake outside the program during the duration of the activity or trip. Participation in some activities and/or trips requires a good basic level of fitness. Participants are responsible for determining whether participation in an activity or trip is suitable.
Travel documents
Participants are required to provide details of a valid travel document (passport or, if valid for the country in question, an ID card) to the power of sports by the set deadline before participating in a foreign activity and/or trip. Participants are responsible for ensuring the validity of the travel document and bringing it to the foreign activity and/or trip. The power of sports reserves the right to pass on additional costs resulting from receiving travel document information too late or incorrectly. The power of sports reserves the right to refuse participants without refund of already paid amounts or to charge additional costs if they cannot present the travel document at the start of the activity and/or trip. The power of sports cannot provide consular or financial support if participants lose their travel document during or before the activity and/or trip.
Number of participants
The power of sports maintains a minimum and maximum number of participants for its activities and/or trips. These numbers can be found on the website. If the minimum number of participants is not reached by the registration deadline, the power of sports reserves the right to cancel the activity and/or trip with a full refund of all paid amounts (excluding transaction costs) or to proceed with a smaller number of participants. The maximum number of participants communicated on the website is a guideline and may be exceeded. The number of participants cannot be used as a reason for participants to cancel an activity and/or trip with a refund of paid amounts.
Disabled participants
When you register to participate in an activity and/or trip with the power of sports, we assume that you can independently participate in the program communicated on the website or have arranged the necessary support before departure. Participants are required to provide all relevant information that may affect safe participation in the program when registering. The power of sports cannot be held liable for any additional costs resulting from the inability to complete the program components communicated on the website. The power of sports cannot be blamed or held liable for the absence of facilities.
Transport
The power of sports uses various transport providers. Depending on the activity and/or trip, participants may travel by train, bus, car, boat, and/or plane.
