From the initial interview to the post-return assessment
Everyone who joins us goes through the same four steps. That way, you know what to expect in advance, you’re never on your own when you’re there, and we’ll look back on the experience together afterwards.
No one joins us without an initial interview. During a video call, we’ll get to know you, discuss your motivation, your expectations and your skills, and take an honest look at whether the project is the right fit for you. Only then will we finalise your trip.
Your welcome pack, which contains everything you need to know about the country, the project, the culture and safety, as well as teaching manuals to help you prepare for your training sessions, can be found on your personal dashboard.
A local coordinator will welcome you and support you on a daily basis. You will have a dedicated mentor in the UK, our 24/7 emergency number and two independent counsellors.
After you return, we’ll review your trip in a video call with your mentor, and you’ll write a reflection piece. We’ll discuss what you tell us with our local partner and incorporate it into the programme and our impact report.
First, ring a former participant
Would you like to hear what it’s really like? Let us know, and we’ll put you in touch with a former participant who was on the same project. Have a quick chat on the phone or via text with someone who’s been there before you, without us being there.
Request a meetingSafe for every child
Our projects are all about children. That is why we have a child protection policy based on the international ‘Keeping Children Safe’ guidelines, with a code of conduct for everyone and a clear procedure to follow if you have any concerns.
